Wednesday, October 27, 2010,5:00 AM The Many Good Things In Life
Lately I've been contemplating and reflecting on the many good (and bad) things in my life. In the past, I have had many -- many bad situations and experiences... it was like as if things just never fall into place. The struggle to put the pieces back together was challenging. But, I moved on, overcame it and have put all that behind me. As years passed by, everything just gets better and better. My life found its path before my eyes. A lot of good things have happened. I believe that most of it was because of prayers, guidance, and God at work! It's all about the present and what I can do to live a better life, fix the past and to be a better person in general. I am so truly blessed with the people that have always been there for me and the new ones. More the reason why I love meeting new people, especially the ones that may have the possibility of becoming great friends with. I love to be surrounded by the people I love and I, of course, have so much love to give. I am just so -- SO blessed with all the things I have been given -- Family, Friends, Faith, Talents, Abilities... just Life in general! I live and love life. I thank the Lord everyday for these wonderful gifts, and especially for bringing Keith into my life. We are recently engaged on October 20, 2010 and have been happily counting the days to the big date and all the goodness to come. "Promise yourself to be strong, that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side as long as you are true to the best that is in you." I've been so inspired by a friend of mine, whom I took this quote from (Jeff Quebral). Not to mention, he has so many inspirational quotes -- and wrote them himself! He just inspires me to think of the positive side of every situations, instead of worrying and holding on to the thoughts. It's always good to think of the brighter side of things when something doesn't go the way it should be. Be positive. Move on. Don't hold on to the past, but fix the past. Saturday, October 16, 2010,1:38 PM Keep A Smile
I was reading my friend's recent blog post, Love On Print, and she mentions that "Laughter is Healthy" -- it sure is! Not only you're giving those cheek muscles a workout, but also your abdominals! (If you laugh hard enough!). Then I thought... Smiling is also just as important, because it shows that you are happy and sincere, whether you could be thinking about something good or just having a great day! *Note: Smiling can make people seem more attractive!* I went forth to look for quotes, and found a good quote to remember: "Keep a smile on your face and let your personality be your autograph." So, I decided to include this quote and designed it for all of you to keep and remember! It's FREE for you to download. Hang it on your wall or your bedroom door, print it as a greeting card for your friends or that special someone! Do whatever you want with it! It's FREE! :) Enjoy! [ TOP 10 REASONS TO SMILE ] 1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away -- but a smile draws them in. 2. Smiling Changes Our Mood Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There's a good chance your mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you change your mood. 3. Smiling Is Contagious When someone is smiling they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. A smiling person brings happiness with them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you. 4. Smiling Relieves Stress Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you'll be better able to take action. 5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System Smiling helps the immune system to work better. When you smile, immune function improves possibly because you are more relaxed. Prevent the flu and colds by smiling. 6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference? 7. Smiling releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug. 8. Smiling Lifts the Face and Makes You Look Younger The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. Don't go for a face lift, just try smiling your way through the day -- you'll look younger and feel better. 9. Smiling Makes You Seem Successful Smiling people are more confident, are more likely to be prompted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meetings and appointments and people will react to you differently. 10. Smiling Helps You Stay Positive Try this test: Smile. Now try to think of some negative without losing the smile. It's hard. When we smile our body is sending the rest of us a message that "Life is Good!" Stay away from depression, stress and worry by smiling. Labels: design, inspiration

Friday, October 15, 2010,4:40 PM Sensational Teas
Teas have been known to provide great beneficial factors for your health and antioxidants that you get with just drinking only a cup. Check out Health Benefits of Green Tea if you didn't know. My all time beverage is tea! Especially Green Tea! I don't like to add sugar to teas because I like to enjoy its natural whole. Every time I see a new flavor that I haven't tried, I would always stop and pick it up. Of course, most of the time it's the packaging that attracts me most. I tend to spend a great deal of minutes in the grocery aisle or store -- observing the packaging and reading about the flavors. Then it comes down to picking and choosing which would be good to try first! I seldom stop by Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in general (Starbucks fan) -- no more than the booth at the mall, but this time it was because of the packaging that caught my eye and my love for teas! Aside from that, I can re-use their tins! Not to mention, their cool triangle bags! They had many different flavors to choose from, but I just HAD to taste their Genmaicha Green tea, pure Japanese Green Tea! Ahhh.. the taste of Japan... (I've never been to Japan, but I love Japanese food and drinks... Maybe someday I can visit Japan). This green tea has a warm, roasty flavor that is perfect to drink on cold days, and fills you up! In addition to the Japanese Green Tea, I also got their Lemon Chamomile. Now, this one really soothes and relaxes. It has a little bit of lemon grass. Great to drink when you just need some time to relax or if you're under stress. If you love Teas, I recommend you try these. Labels: inspiration

Monday, October 11, 2010,11:55 PM Simply Vintage... Classic
I've always had a taste for modern folk art and have experimented this approach ever since. While browsing through the net, I stumbled upon these inspiring illustrations created by a talented illustrator, Jonny Wan. I would say he has a niche for folk art in the mix. Vintage, yet modern and very whimsical. Great colors and details. Truly worthy of worship! He is my new inspiration on my list. Labels: design, inspiration

12:26 AM Let's Get Started!
I have been truly inspired by my colleagues in the past few months and are the reason why their creativity drove me to create this blog. Though, lately I've realized that I have been putting many things aside. You know, one of those things when you have an idea or plan and want to develop it, but instead ended up leaving it aside for a longggg time until you actually take the "time" to do it. Well, that is my case. I do, still have many long lists of "things-to-do," but at least I've checked this one off! So now, let's venture to the right brain and observe the creativity around us! Who knows, maybe someday you and I will learn something that we never thought we would! Let's get inspired! Welcome to My Darling Sunshine! A place full of inspiration, creativity, and exploration! Happy reading!
